Groundbreaking Ceremony June 18, 2025 at 10AM

Friday, June 6, 2025

You are invited to the Groundbreaking Ceremony for the Jones Library Renovation & Expansion Project! All are welcome!

Join us in celebrating the launch of this historic project, marking a significant milestone after a decade of dedicated planning. This Project includes rehabilitation of the Jones Library original building constructed in 1928, removal of the three-story rear addition built in 1993, and new construction of a three-story rear addition. The Project will upgrade the building to meet current library standards, enhancing the library’s role as a community and educational center. It will address costly but critical safety and accessibility concerns; improve and expand children’s and special collections facilities; create dedicated space for ESL, teens, and important cultural artifacts; and transition the building to Net-Zero building by eliminating the use of fossil fuels and purchasing off-site renewable energy.

When: Wednesday, June 18 at 10:00 am

Where: Jones Library (43 Amity St, Amherst, MA 01002)

RSVP: https://forms.office.com/r/NRRv3fp1ib

Please RSVP by June 15.

All are welcome! Please share this invitation with others who may be interested.
